wpid-20151214072824.jpgOne of the most stressful work when restoring an old piano is removing screws on the cast iron. They are too tight and hard, and they tend to break easily when they are too rusted. Moreover, those slotted screws are no longer in production in Japan so no replacement is available. You can get crossed screws instead, but that’s a kind of losing the piano’s vintage feeling. So original slotted screws are the best, always.

So, everything on the cast iron has safely removed now. Next is to remove the cast iron itself.
