今日は午前中が調律でお客様を訪問しました。

今日のピアノはSteinbachというアップライトピアノでした。どっしりとした大きなボディが鳴らす音が良かったです。ピッチは半音近く下がっていましたが、粗調律二回、本調律一回、最後に全体チェックして全部で約一時間半。良い音になったと思います。

Customer’s piano today was Steinbach and Sons, upright.  It was kind of a large cabinet and sounds good.  Hadn’t been tuned for approximately 20 years.  One and half hours work including two times of rough tuning, one precise tuning and checking all over the keys.  

午後はお店でU3Aの外装クリーニング作業。音楽はバーンスタインのウェストサイドストーリー。去った日曜日の題名のない音楽会で流れていたのを聴いてまた全部聴きたくなりました。大好きです。

In the afternoon I was working on YAMAHA U3A at my store with West Side Story as back ground music.  It was on the TV show called “Untitled Concert” by a horn quintet.  Then I wanted to listen to full orchestra version.  This music is really something else.  My favorite.
