U7の脱弦およびピン抜きが終わり、一通りクリーニングをしました。これからピンブッシュ、チューニングピンを準備して張弦作業です。

このような状態になったときに、響板を軽くたたくととても良い音がします。こぶしをギュッと握って、傘を持つような格好をしたときに下側になるやわらかい部分を使って、太鼓のように響板を叩くととても良い音がします。このピアノについてはそれがとても顕著に出て、小型のグランドピアノよりも重く長く音がなります。iPhoneで録音しようとしましたが、残念ながらこの音をひろってはくれませんでした。

さあここからが楽しみです。

Old strings and tuning pins are removed.  Now starting of installation.  

Knocking the sounding board with a soft part of a fist sounds really good.  Especially this piano has special characteristic in its tone.  It’s better than other baby grand.  I tried recording the sound with my iPhone camera but it didn’t pick up the frequency.

Anyways, this is where the fun begins!
