グランドピアノの鍵盤上面を交換するという作業をしました。前日はアップライトピアノの鍵盤で社員下部に写っています。今日交換したのはグランドで、写真上部です。割れていたとかではいのですが、変色が著しかったので変色しない材質のものと交換しました。

Grand piano key tops are replaced.  I was working on key fronts of an upright on the other day and this time is grand.  These key tops weren’t broken but change of the color was obvious.  The replacing key tops are the material that hardly change its color.

 

写真の中央の鍵盤はこのピアノの最高音のドです。使用頻度が少ないのでほぼオリジナルの色だと思います。両脇は中音部の鍵盤で、どのくらい変色しているかがわかります。

The key in the middle is the highest note of the piano.  It’s the note that isn’t much used so it kept its original color.  On the other hand, keys on both sides are the middle range.  It’s visible how the color has changed.

作業中の写真。鍵盤をすべてはがして木だけになりました。鍵盤の木はやわらかめの素材を使うようですが、このピアノはさらにやわらかかったので、接着剤をはがすのにペーパーで削るのにも気を使いました。

This is the picture when the key tops were removed and the wood appeared.  The keyboard material is basically soft wood.  This piano specifically very soft and I had to be very careful to remove the glue with sand paper, not to scratch too much.
